Dr. Phil Tells Bible Followers to Kiss His Ass

In a cowardly effort to censor the media, Buzzfeed removed a similar post from their community section but the Joseph Bonner Reports has a longstanding reputation of displaying courage and speaking out when the truth needs to be heard. Shame on your Buzzfeed.
Many have the highest level of respect for Dr. Phil for his commitment to seeking truth, fostering understanding while maintaining professional objectivity. However, as of late, in many opinions, Dr. Phil's show is more geared towards ratings and not actually helping people.
An example of this can be seen from Monday’s show.
In addition to telling bible followers to kiss his ass, he fostered religious intolerance against Jehovah’s Witnesses using explicit terms and without having all of the facts. He also by implication, in our opinion, displayed an utter disrespect for Child Protective Services. And if that were not bad enough, he found fault with Jehovah’ Witnesses “elders” for actually turning in a member for alleged suspected child abuse.
Let’s break this down little by little.
Tatiana and her husband Robert were Jehovah’s Witnesses. Tatiana decided recently that she no longer wanted to be one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She decided to disassociate herself after claiming she began to question her faith 9 years after becoming one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
There are a few things wrong here already.
Getting baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses is not like other so called christian faiths. In most churches, a person simply shows up to church one day. The pastor may ask them if they want to be baptized and they get baptized on the same day.
It’s a very different process to become of Jehovah’s Witnesses. To become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, a person has to study the bible for a lengthy period of time in most cases. Tatiana would have had a bible study for numerous months, which would have afforded her the opportunity to question the faith of Jehovah’s Witnesses BEFORE she got baptized. So for her to say that she began to question her faith 9 years after her baptism simply does not add up.
Second: Tataiana has stood by her husband Robert through the 7 accusations against him on child abuse and molestation that spans across multiple states. During the show she defends her husband, saying that it’s all just a misunderstanding.
Third: Tatiana disassociated herself from Jehovah's Witnesses.
What does that mean?
It could be compared to playing on a soccer team. A team mate may decide that they don’t want to play on the team anymore. In addition, they may make the claim that they did not understand the rules to the game, despite having gone to practice for many years. The person may also claim that their teammates lied to them and were really trying to take advantage of them, despite the fact that the team paid a huge salary to them.
Tatianas case is similar. How so?
When a person disassociated themselves from being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, they are pretty much saying that they don’t want to have anything to do with anyone or anything associated with Jehovah’s Witnesses anymore. Despite having studied the bible, she claimed by inference that she really did not believe it in the first place. She benefited from close association with Jehovah’s Witnesses for nine years and now by actions communicated to all of her former Jehovah's Witness friends and teachers that SHE did not want them in her life.
How though did Dr. Phil encourage religious intolerance against Jehovah’s Witnesses?
When speaking to Robert, Dr. Phil made the statement that any organization that did not welcome his family could kiss his ass. His audience applauded.
Dr. Phil obviously has no understanding of the term “dissociation.”
Dr. Phil also stated that no god that he knows is going to ask him to turn his back on his wife. However, in the bible book of Matthew, chapter 10 and verse 34-37, Jesus stated “Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man at variance against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law: and a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of men; and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” (American Standard Version).
Dr. Phil went on to say that any religion could kiss his ass if they did not embrace his family. In other words, any religion that practices Jesus teachings as mentioned above could kiss his ass. Dr. Phil made the claim that Tatiana was shunned, but it's more like Tatiana shunned Jehovah’s Witnesses. Jesus also stated in the bible at Matthew 18:15-17, “And if thy brother sin against thee, go, show him his fault between thee and him alone: if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he hear thee not, take with thee one or two more, that at the mouth of two witnesses or three every word may be established. And if he refused to hear them, tell it unto the church: and if he refused to hear the church also, let him be unto thee as the Gentile and the publican.”
In these passages Jesus is very direct on how to treat persons who do not listen to the congregation.
While it is absolutely OK to disagree with a religious teaching and even the bible, to make that statement that Jehovah’s Witnesses could kiss his ass, and by extension, the God they serve and the Bible, he was completely out of line.
With such careless and thoughtless words, Dr. Phil also condemned countless millions of families, friends, doctors, scientist, experts, teachers, television personalities and many more who look to the bible as a source of guidance and take all of Jesus words very seriously.
And this isn't’ even the half of what was wrong with Monday’s show.
Dr. Phil also shows utter disrespect for Child Protective Services and by inference finds fault with “elders” of Jehovah’s Witnesses for allegedly protecting Tatiana and Robert's children and notifying CPS of the molestation allegations.
